Two men are in custody after a home invasion on Wednesday night in which a man in the home shot and wounded at least one of two masked invaders. City police say two men broke into a home in the 1300 block of East Calhoun Street near Rogers Avenue about 11 p.m. Police say one man was armed with a large knife.
Police say the man in the house, who was watching his 2-month-old grandchild, heard some rustling at the back door and grabbed his gun. The invaders then went around to the front door and broke in.
“Two individuals came in through a locked door,” said Maj. Kevin Routh. “The victim fired a few rounds at the suspects. The first ran through the house and jumped through a back window. The other spun and went out the way he came in."
