I just bought my 1st one.
cosmo off. Cleaned and lubed.
The cartridges are not feeding properly. I have tried a few things, but with 1-2 cartridges, no issue.
If I load 3 to 5, the bolt won't push the cartridge forward. The sear/trigger spring is digging into the rim of the cartridge.
Any help please.

I'd look at the magazine spring - you can remove it - for starters and make sure it's not dirty.

Mine cycles fine but after the 3rd or 4th round the bolt sticks and you have to really whack it to get it to release. I understand it's a fairly common problem with Mosin's.

Good luck! What year is yours? Mine is a '43 Ishvesk.

Mine will only cycle with 2 in the mag. after that, that's when I have issues .
Year, 1943 PW Arms

On a cell so I don't have a direct link but Google Mosin Nagant rim lock.

Not rim lock. I have read the cause, and it is not the way the cartridges are loaded.
I am getting dig marks in the rim from the sear/trigger spring
The interrupter does not seem to be working correctly.
with 3 rounds, the cartridges are pointing at a 40-45 degree angle upwards ?

Are you inserting the cartridges all the way back into the mag.
1. Remove the interrupter and clean the shit out of it. Especially where it sits andcthe channel it rides in. Also make sure the mag spring/follower is not binding.
I also find weak or slow manipulation of some mosins just doesn't work well.
if you do experience rim lock with a mosin your interruptor is not working. Replace it or find the cause.
Make sure interruptor screw is tight also.
Also the stock likes to contact the interruptor causeing problems.

This, I had the same issue on my 91/30. Interrupter was dirty and the stock was interfering with it.

Sounds like you have too much tension on your interruptor. Eric from Iraqveteran8888 on youtube has some great mosin videos and even covers this topic. I'll look for the video but incase I cant find it, you should look too.

Edit: Found it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LC0ULOSA5wg

Go to about minute 7 and watch on. He gets to the issue of the tension being too tight around 7:44 talking about the scratching issue you are having.

I dont think he tells you exactly how to resolve it but a quick youtube search could likely give you additional details.

I finally have it working. I cleaned all parts again and reassembled . works fine if I load by hand. stripper clips do not work.
I am getting rim lock with the stripper clips. Is there an adjustment I can make to correct this. I can't imagine Russians loading 1 at a time while being fired upon [thinking]

Rim lock is a mechanical failure of the interuptor...or as posted above a feed issue.
Some clips just suck other work fine.... I found that the stock hit the interuptor on mine and wouldn't allow enough movement to use the clips. Keep looking and trying.

I loosened the spring a little to allow the cartridge to enter the mag and to have the interrupter let up the next round for feeding.
The rounds were sticking under the interrupter. Now the cartridge feeds, but the interrupter does not work properly. I will have to readjust.

To save you time if your not doing it leave the gun out of the stock . And adjust and test it that way. Once you got it working like that toss it in the stock. If your have problems then remove some wood.
