Mossberg MVP LR

Does anyone think that this would make a good entry level long range rifle or is it just tacticool? I would have to get good glass of course. I wouldn't be hunting with it, but 500 yard plus steel and paper target shooting.

I haven't shot one, but for that kind of $ you could get a Savage with an accutrigger and an accustock and have $ left over to put towards a scope.
