Hey , why isn't this in Milsurp section where it belongs? plenty of experts there to tell you ! i would contact someone for the right stain and get the stock stained properly. other than that it looks like a fine first SKS- and a russian at that! welcome to the club they multply!
BTW the barrel is not usually looked at as a matching number. (I dont even know if it is supposed to macth but others do!)

I uploaded this from my phone, and didn't see the milsurps section, maybe I was too excited at having my first Russian over all I think I did well and I'm very happy.

Nice! My Russian refurb is a pleasure to shoot. I actually sold my old Yugo M59/66 to fund the Russian.
