My Letter to Jarrett Barrios - The Hypocrite

Hi guys,

I sent this note last week and still have not heard back from Jarrett. I'm not surprised as - coming from me - it's not something he'd like to deal with. He's a hypocrite and he really should be ashamed of himself.

I can't believe you called yourself a libertarian on the radio this
morning. You are a politically correct leftist, you are so far from
understanding and being a true libertarian that it's not even funny.

I've read about you in the media for a while on various issues,
particularly when it comes to 2nd amendment issues and I've always
been struck by what a hypocrite you are, Jarrett.

How can you demand that folks support equal marriage rights for gays
when you have done everything in your power to destroy 2nd amendment
civil rights in this state?

I'm gay and I support 2nd amendment civil rights as well as equal
marriage rights (I'm a life member of the NRA - a great organization
that helps protect the rights of gay people to own firearms for
self-protection and sporting purposes). I also support the right of a
woman to manage her family life without undue interference by the
state.

You either support everyone's civil rights or you stand exposed as a
hypocrite that wants rights for yourself but who will use the power of
the state to take away the rights of others.

I strongly suggest that you visit http://www.pinkpistols.org/ or
http://www.lp.org/ and begin educating yourself. To date you've shown
an incredible amount of ignorance about 2nd amendment civil rights
issues and I, as a fellow gay man, resent your frequent attempts to
take away what's left of my 2nd amendment civil rights in this state.

I truly hope you actually do become a real libertarian. But I doubt
you will, the PC leftist ideology seems to dominate your thinking for
the most part.

I fear that Mr. Barrios will never even see the letter. His aides read everything first and do the responses. He'll never even know that you wrote to him. I got a letter from Senator Kennedy's office last week in response to my letter to him on immigration. It was merely a 2 page form letter full of fluff telling me how complex the issue is and that he has weighed every complexity. It's a bunch of crap!!

BTW, I do commend you for taking the time to write to him. I hope that he listens but I had gotten to know Mr. Barrios back when I was working in the newspaper business. I even covered his election eve celebration party. He is very set in his ways. I doubt that he can be swayed on any issue. He believes what he believes and to hell with everyone else.

Maybe, I really don't know. Or he's just a gutless wonder that doesn't have the balls to take the heat when he's wrong. Either way I'm still glad I wrote him.

Yep, he's quite selfish and self-centered. I got that just from reading he media reports on him. Politically correct leftists like him see everything through the prism of that ideology and nobody else's rights or needs matter. It's a very narcissistic type of ideology, everything must revolve around him and his needs or issues.
