Need help: Which 9mm

Canik tp9 is a great gun love mine have easily 3k rounds thru it no issues. Sigs are awesome as well I prefer the thin trigger like on the elite models. Beretta 92 is one of my favorite guns. But I'd say a g19 is the best gun all around in my opinion I find it easy to throw under a tshirt. Great shooter for the range too

The p320 is taking over. Without modification the trigger is excellent and if you don't mind a stupid thumb safety you can get a compact version in mass without much hassle.

Thanks again for all the help. Shooting supplies has the Canik for 339 with 100 rounds of 9. Range kit. Im deeply considering it. And worst case I sell it for a little bit of a loss and move onto something else. Unless I find a good deal on something on my list, I might take the plunge. My brother has glocks. Not a hater. But they're just hard to come by for a decent price.

canik TP9SF and case of 9mm still under $600

Exactly what I decided. Picked up mine on Tuesday, have gone through 600 rounds, and still have a few hundred left - Just under $600 including tax
Out the door with the TP9SF range kit under $400, and I actually like the retention holster it comes with
Nicely machined, reliable and very accurate

Not on your list but a great range and home gun is the Beretta 92. Easy to shoot. Perban mags available. Some carry, not many. But to think outside the box. You have a shield 45. Why not get a 45 ap range gun? It's nice to keep similar caliber. Not that someday you'll have a lot more, most do.

ZNix firearms are like a good pair of gloves. Fit and comfort when your hand mates with the grip is the basis of everything.

I'll throw my hat into this and recommend the Beretta 92FS or the 92A1/Beretta 92FS compact. Second choice would be the H&K VP9, third choice the Sig 2022 or sp2009....

I love the Beretta 92fs, but IMO it's a little too big to carry - great range and house gun though. Also love the accuracy and reliability of the Glocks - the 19 is easy to carry. The 17 is a great range and house gun. Right now someone on the forum has a gen 2 G17 listed for $475 - looks to be in good shape. Please buy it so I don't have to[smile]

I went and bought the Canik. It was 371 OTD with 100 rounds of 9mm. Got the FDE model. Ill post pics in a few. I know some of you might scoff a little at it. But damn does that gun feel nice in my hand. It felt nicely built. And the trigger was really light. If I have an issues with it I will report back. Two other reasons made me go with the Canik. 1, I decided after looking at all the 1911s, I want to pick one of those up soon. 2, I think im picking up a Mosin soon =D. One of my dream guns. So I saved a little here to spend elsewhere and widen my collection.

I want to thank everyone for weighing in here. I took all your suggestions into consideration. Worst case, I gift it to my mother when she gets her LTC. But I don't see this thing being a problem.

You just got your first and already have 2 more on your radar. Welcome to the addiction, might as well build that gun room now, it's only a matter of time.

A lot of this is going to be personal preference. I see a lot of people recommending a Glock. I own a Glock and don't really like it all that much. Don't like the grip. Don't like the trigger. Don't like the fact that I can't shoot it all that well.

If it were me, I'd take a hard look at a Sig, which is not on your list. I own a 226 which I have probably put 8-10,000+ rounds through.
Don't think I've ever had a misfire. And the gun is more still more accurate than I am. The 226 may be a little bigger and heavier than you're looking for, particularly if you want to carry. They have a couple of newer models that also seem pretty popular. Best thing would be to go to some place like the Manchester Firing Line, rent a couple of different models and see what you like best. Glock, Berreta, Smith & Wesson, SIG, HK, all make quality handguns. Ultimately, it's what design/ergonomics you like best.

did you get that at Gartman arms last Friday? I was there having Tim put Trijicons on my XDM, and a couple of guys were there
all Jazzed up about these and one walked out with one just like this.

I finally came up with a good answer to your original question.

All of them.

I bought this at Village Sports in Westport. Great bunch of guys over there. Had a good deal on it for President's Day.

Ruger has a 9mm 1911
Good gun. Action was a little rough BNIB and definitely a rattler, slide to frame fit wise. 3500 rounds later it has quite literally never missed a beat, has a decent trigger right out of the box, and will put them all well inside the -0 from the 20 yard mark, which is all i ask. Tripp 10 rounders lock the slide back, fall free, and auto forward the slide on a reload. Should of came with a fiber optic front sight though.
