Got some cash coming soon. Looking to round out the 9mm collection already have a 226 stainless elite(love it) a 239. A Beretta 92fs and Taurus 92 fs Springfield xdm. Fnh fnp 9. So here is what I'm looking at vp9 ppq fns g 19 g17 a 229 stainless elite or an sr22 and an sd9ve together with a poop load of ammo

Or a p30. I'm leaning towards an hk never had one heard great things so that's what I'm thinking. Also hate my fnp the recoil is ridiculous for a duty sized 9 I can't keep the muzzle on target for a follow up shot for $h!t

I had one traded it regret it definitely will get another but this is a celebratory piece glocks are too plain for my mood I think on this one I want a little style and flair here I think. Now if you can substantiate why you liked it best I'm all ears

Glock parts and mags are cheap and plentiful. Glocks are tanks.

Sig/FN mags are very pricey and scarce sometimes. Plus the weight of the Sig over the Glock 17/19 kills it for me. The FNS is awesome, but here in the wonderful state of MA, you're stuck with cripple mags.

Amen .
I'm debating between a timber wolf or glock in 45

If you've got any interest in a Timberwolf in 9, and we can do it legally, (I'm in CT), I've got one I'm ready to sell. If you're interested, I'll put some pics up.

If your 9mm collection lacks a glock then i would say its a no brainer - G17

unrelated but other 9mm favorites to me include a CZ-75 SP-01 or Sig P320

I actually like the stock gen 4 frames with the fat back strap. And I've owned glocks before I love them. By the end of the year I want a 20, 40 17,19 and a 36. But I just don't know if I'm feeling one for this purchase. The vp9 p30 and ppq all look great to me. My 226 needs it's little brother. Idk I liked my 19 shot well but at the end of the day it didn't have the ooooo factor I'm looking for with this buy

If youre looking for a classy 9mm, get a CZ-75 or clone. Mec gar makes excellent 10rd neutered mags so thats a non issue.

to me there's no point in owning a bunch of striker fired pistols....they're all too similar. YMMV.

I agree.

P30 would be my first choice, west german p229 is great as well, vp9 if you like striker fired

If you don't intend to carry the gun concealed, I'd suggest the G34 instead of the 17.

Also. If you want some pizzaz, they can all be had with a FDE lower.
Actually Glock is also selling an all FDE gun through Lipseys dealers. I don't like it. I think the all brown gun looks like a piece of poop. But that's just me.

Don

The 34 is the long slide right ?

yeah.

P30 is a great gun. however so is a glock 19.

the only thing the P30 does that the glock doesn't however is cost twice as much.

I went with USP Compact over P30, didn't like the decocker switch on the back of the slide, and the trigger seemed better on the USP. Also easier to modify USPs than P series.

Either way, H&K will still hate you.

No love for a 9mm 1911???

I have the VP9 and the more I shoot it the more I like it, I find it much more comfortable and pointable than my glocks and M&Ps and the trigger ain't bad either. Just the damn magazines are crazy and ten rounders seem to be more expensive than the standard capacity ones.

The suggestion of the G34, G17, and G19 indicates a way that we have all failed you.

The most important question is "what do you want to do with this gun?"

If its a range or home defense gun, then discard all the suggestions for compact models.

If its a carry gun then discard most of the suggestions for full sized guns. Although this isn't nearly as concrete as the suggestion about a range/hd gun.

i disagree. a compact has no problems holding its own against full size guns if you know what you're doing. it is the HD gun, it's the carry gun, it's the gun.

i've made my G19 my go-to and practically never shoot the others. thousands of rounds through the thing, hours manipulating it and dry firing, and i have no issues with the gun.

I think he means subcompacts - compacts like G19 aren't much smaller than full size.

No. I mean compact. Like the G19. Because while the 19 is versatile, its also not as good as either the 26 or the 34 for most people for their respective roles.

For example. I own the following Glocks in order of increasing size. 42, 26, 19, 17, 34

Of the five, the 19 is by far the most versatile. Its the one Glock to have if you can only have one. BUT.

I don't have only one. As such, it gets carried less than the 26 and comes to the range with me less than the 34.

There is no denying that the 19 is inferior as a HD or range gun compared to a 34. But, yes it is the most versatile.

Which is why I keep it in CT, where its my only centerfire handgun.

I love the p30 except for the trigger the fn and my sigs have fantastic triggers on them and dropping a thousand bucks on that gun with that trigger is my only issue also saw a p99c really thought that was cool

This is an I just landed a huge contract it's starting to pay off I struggled for a few months there scraping by. Kinda reward to myself for sticking it out and not becoming a cube monkey. So i want like a nice piece that isn't a glock although if I see tan I might jump. I have carry guns I have range sweethearts. I have bedside guns. If it's anything other than shoot able eye candy it's a bonus
