new piece

I love the p30 except for the trigger the fn and my sigs have fantastic triggers on them and dropping a thousand bucks on that gun with that trigger is my only issue also saw a p99c really thought that was cool

The time to buy HKs is when they have rebates. You could have bought a P30 for $650 after $200 rebate this winter. They might do it again this winter, hopefully.

What about a Ruger Mark II/III? If you want to stick with 9 then a CZ would fit nicely in your lineup.

Cz would be nice I'm looking into one. I don't like the mark 2/3 look. Supposedly the sr22 is the same reliability in a cooler look. But also you can get one for 300 at fsguns. Which is a good price

The regular barreled Mark isn't my favorite, but the long barrels like the hunter are sharp.

I applaud your desire to improve your skills with a .22 rather than buy another centerfire gun.

A couple of thoughts.

If you want to work on your marksmanship skills. (stance, grip, sight alignnment, sight picture, trigger press, follow through etc. ), the ruger MkII or 22/45 is a better choice. The SR22 is a nice little gun, but its not accurate enough to teach you a whole hell of a lot.

If you are leaning towards a .22, please answer this. Are you open to a single action traditional style gun? Or do you want something that looks like a shrunken centerfire gun?

I ask because I was about to recommend you take a look at the Buckmark. Its a very nice gun if you don't like the idiosyncrasies of the Ruger Mk III.

If you want something that looks like a "real" gun, take a look at the CZ. They make a dedicated .22 that is identical to a CZ75 and is all steel (I believe).

Glock 19 or 17. I really don't like Sigs or H&K's because of those pistols higher bore axis.
While the Sig226 has a higher bore axis than the G19 (1.3" vs 0.9") the H&K Bore axis (at least for the VP9) is identical to the G19 at 0.9". Although since the poster does not want a Glock the point is moot.

Of course since the orignal post was looking for a 9MM and now we talking SR22 maybe this entire thread is moot?

I'm not looking to really improve in shooting I'm good enough to hit someone should the need arise. I don't shoot quarter groupings every time but range time is just nice to do something. I don't have the time to become super profecient. So for now it's just a fun hobby. I liken it to golf I hit what I'm aiming at enough to get me to come back. But let's see the sr22 is on the list because of reliability I heard it eats anything out of the box. That was really why I gravitated towards it and the buckmarks to me aren't my thing. However the cz love here had piqued my interest. So next week I will be exploring those options. Along with the fns but I think at the end if the day it'll be the ppq. Just everything I'm looking for. Great trigger. Great lines just a sexy functional piece all around. That or a g20 lol

Do you mean the PPQ .22? I can't hit squat with mine, maybe it's me, but I find it disappointing.

Really?
ppq 22lr is the finest little 22 i have found. Just as reliable as SR22 but better overall feel and trigger.

FYI the ppq 22 is the exact same gun as M&P 22 pistol. Both made by walther and internals are identical.

Interesting, didn't know that. Could be the sights, or maybe cause it's so light, but I don't get good groupings at all with it.

make sure your rear sight is snug. there's a 1/16" hex head that holds the rear sight in place. if it's not snug the sight will move, which is actually convenient as a sight pusher isn't needed to adjust windage.

>>round out the 9mm collection already have a 226 stainless elite(love it)

Collection finished.

Joking aside, I'd probably vote for the VP9 or G19/G17. I like the VP, the mag release isn't bad once you practice it, and the stock trigger is really smooth.

Someday I'll get a G19 or G26 of my own...

You don't have a Glock... so obviously the G19.

Really... who owns one or more 9mm guns and doesn't have a G19?...

Those of us who live in MA...I'd like one, but the availability plus the "Mass tax" aka the big price markup...although I'm thinking the G26 might suit my needs better.

Me.

226 Tacops, M11a1, P320, Shield... Sold my VP9 because I hated the mag release...

G19 is solid, but I have no need for it. It's like buying a Camry when I have my garage full of BMW's...

I know how to get them but don't own a Glock, haven't warmed up to striker fired yet.
