New Steel Helmet - Interesting

My dad was an armorer in the Army during WWII His unit was training in the desert, in preparation for going into Normandy [laugh]. A bored-guys discussion began, as to whether the Steel Helmet would stop a bullet. My dad was on the "No" side.

To settle the question, the "Yes" guy put his helmet on the ground. My dad took his .45, and put a round through it. "Now, go explain that to the Quartermaster." [laugh]

Looks like a great value, cost effective piece of gear. Not for everyone, but not a bad thing to consider...

That said; with a moniker like "The Militia" you know who it's marketed to.

Reminds me of when gas masks, body armor and colanders were all the rage...

Another plus is that it will receive IR/IFF refrigerator magnets...

$298.99 (minus $50 for pre-orders) is cheaper than a beat up, used ballistic bucket...
$359.03 for the Militia + Deluxe Pad kit seen in video.

I think you could do better with something off this site:

Those are great prices on Kevlar. I like the way the steel pot Militia tested though...
Great post Nick, thanks.
