Newbe question

My advice to you is try before you buy, either at a shoot with people here or up at a rental range like Manchester. Especially when it comes to pistols, some will feel good in your hand and others will be a weird angle, too big, etc... It's a very personal thing.

Either start with .22 or if you really want large calibers right off the bat do yourself a favor and get a full sized heavy pistol to absorb the recoil.

Yeah...the angle was kind of weird on the Ruger, but after a short while I got used to it. I'm probably going to take everyones advice and go with a .22 though.....but I imagine the credit card will be jumping out of my pocket again shortly after that

Yeah, they tend to do that around nice new guns. Something about gleaming metal (stainless OR blued) does it, I think.
