So today I made my first visit to the range during lunch with my brand-new Beretta 92fs and put 50 rounds through it. I couldn't be happier.

Background: I'm a total newb. Just got my LTC this winter; total handgun experience is about 150 rounds (not including today's 50), with 100 of that being .22 and the balance spread between my brother-in-law's P89 and PPK.

Here's my first target. Try not to laugh too hard:

10 rounds total from 20'. Only 5 on the paper with 3 in a circle. Don't even know where the other 5 rounds went (probably low). Ugh.

And here is the target from my 4th and best mag:

Went back to 30' on this one. All 10 on the paper and in the circle! [banana]

I know, nothing to brag about, but I was thrilled beyond words to actually see some improvement after only one box of ammo.

I think I'm going to love this gun. Very comfortable to shoot, wonderful trigger, soft recoil, and not a single jam (was using cheap Blazer ammo).

Thats a fairly common pattern the first time someone shifts from .22 to centerfire. Lots of trigger time (especially on a .22) will help you improve that in no time. My targets looked like that the first time I shot 9mm. Now I usually group pretty tight in the black. Its all just practice.

The 92FS is a great gun, congrats and keep practicing!

I love my 92FS. Out of all my pistols, it's the best shooting gun - for me.

Keep throwing lead downrange and see those holes turn into one big one in the middle. [smile]
