Newbie with an opinion type question

Yup yup. Buy big. It lengthens the time before you have buy a second safe.
Military shooters compete with the Beretta and the Army Marksmanship Unit has some finely tuned examples.
Thousands trust their lives with this pistol every day. I used to be one of them.
I'm sure there are the widows and orphans of Taliban and Al Qaida who would not regard the pistol as a plinker.
There are newer designs, but there is nothing wrong with tradtional DA/SA.
The 92FS/M9 is not my first choice because I have small hands, but then again neither is the Glock.
If you want to give me your Beretta I will willingly take it off your hands and enjoy shooting it. You made a good choice and it is concealable provided you dress around the gun. Also, there are plenty of pre-ban hi cap magazines out there.
Don't worry what the Glock fanboys and fangirls say, there is no one "ideal handgun" there are plenty of great handguns out there and the Beretta is one of them.
