Hi Everyone,

I live in North Andover and I'm trying to get my LTC. I'm stuck on writing the letter to the Captain stating why I want a LTC license.

I'm trying to get everyone I know to vote on this issue, maybe we can be heard.

Thanks,
Brian

Why not just tell him that you want to join a pistol league and compete in competitions and that you need a LTC to do so. You could also say that you want to hunt out of state with a pistol and need a LTC to do that also. The other options are to move to a gun friendly town or out of state. Make sure you apply for a Class A permit.

You posted this to an existing thread on Inheritance.

I moved it to it's own thread.

Please look at the Stickies in the Gun Laws forum. There is a thread on obtaining a LTC. It should give you tips on how to approach this problem.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

If you're in an anti town, I'd suggest contacting an MA gun lawyer
before you throw in the towel. You will be able to find out in 5 or 10
minutes wether or not there is a wallhack for that town, or you have to
move.

Here's the problem, No One should have to move to get a gun permit. The Police Chief should be replaced if he refuses to give a law-abiding citizen a LTC permit.

I agree that it sucks, but frankly it is often cheaper to move than it is to
fight the system. (unless there's a wallhack) And often times fighting the
system in that manner in this state amounts to pissing into the wind. If
you have political throw in town what you are suggesting may work, but most
people do not. IIRC only one town tossed a chief over LTC issues (Carver?) and
that probably was not the ONLY issue.

FWIW, I'm not suggesting that we should NEVER call out these douchebags on the
carpet... but many of us don't have the time or money to pay to drag the issue
out in court. If I was rich and had money to burn I would personally underwrite efforts
to fry these bastards. But most people do not have those kind of resources and just want
a damned A/ALP...

I'm sorry for the reposting... I knew that I was told before I posted about the sticky on this subject.

I was really just trying to get people to go on Deval Patrick's website and vote on this issue thanks again.
