Kind of got the bug for something new… and came across OK knives.

Looking a the Emerson and benchmade autos.. any experiences? Not into them enough to justify spending a lot.
Looks like I could get several for $100 and get a feel for if that model would make m want to pay the money for the real deal.

Not. Any hard use… the occasional carry, box open and sandwich.

Thanks!

I have spent the money on a few Emerson’s in the past. But all turned out to not be practical keepers for me. And I ended up selling.

With the cqc7s. And maybe a microtech clone. It is cheap money to see if either would be a viable carry piece. And if so. Then I’d feel less bad spending the money.

I didn’t know these were a thing. I would buy one for sure. I bought my first Emerson 6 years ago. Before that I carried a kershaw Emerson cqc-6 for close to 15 years

Lot of guys have bought Chinese clones from diff sites, some are terrible and some are ok for beating on and not caring that it stopped working a week later because you only lost ~$40.00.

IMO you can’t honestly compare the two as being the same knife. My brain sees this as “I really want a corvette so I’ll get a Hyundai and see how it drives.”

I can only add that if they weren’t “viable carry pieces”, they wouldn’t be so popular all these years.

Some clones nowadays are like buying a Toyota made in Texas vs made in Japan.

They see, to be getttimg really good reviews..

But I bought an Emerson Persian… then a Karambit.. thought they’d be EDC… wrong.. they were huge.

Looking at a cqc7… the specs all seem good.. but is that ridiculous one sided knife something I’d be able to deal with? Not sure.
And what for me would just be a toy like a trodoon, infadel or halo? $60 vs 300+?

If I get a clone, knock off and like it.. makes spending that 250+ a lot easier to “rationalize”.. obviously not the correct word here…
