I am working with an FFL to acquire a Reising M50. In the process I was informed that he has 2 additional C&R 22 rifles that he would be willing to part with.

1. H&R Reising M65 22 LR - The General - Serial 7xxx - excellent condtion
2. H&R Model 165 "LEATHERNECK" - Serial 7xxx - in new condition

Does anyone know anything about these rifles, collectibility, relative current prices? I'm having a hard time really tracking down information on them. I'm trying to determine if these are something I should seriously consider working to acquire with the M50.

A good consolidated overall information thread on Reisings and the siblings can be found here.
I have found a variety of other limited sources on them - but is seems like there is overall limited information out there on them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry not knowledgeable on your specific questions.

I do have an H&R model 700 which is a 22 mag semi auto.
It will chew and spit out what ever 22 mag ammo I put in it if that is of some help

The M65 is basically a moldel 58c , all though the M65 had a stock profile about the same as a M1 garand.
Should have a 10 round mag rear adjustable aperture sight....nice heavy gun. Good old steel and wood.
Don't see them often made 1944-45. They don't really carry a high tag. Although in the right auction they might.
Check out past auctions from Rock island auction there where a few a while back.... I like them....I have a soft spot for old 22s anyway. Last one I saw was about 4 years ago. Missing the magazine for 350$ it was in very good shape.

The leather neck is basically the same gun with a tapered barrel , not as full a stock . Should have a M79 rear sight.
Maybe 300$ in mint mint condition I don't think I would pay more than $200.... I don't think there's a huge market for the H&R 22s there are some hidden gems and the U.S. PROPERTY marked ones bring more.

Now just so I'm understanding you.... M50 with giggle switch?

Little note on the model 65
