Optics Ready VP9?

Is this really that much different from the standard model? Anyone buying this?

H&K at shot show said there is no different optics ready VP9. All will be cut for a red dot

Am I crazy or did I read the first run of optic-ready VP9s were for the Vortex red dots only? They are going to make other plates later.
