finally picked up my first gun, M&P9c last week, and now came to the painful conclusion that sure it makes a pretty paperweight, but I have no place to shoot it. I know joining a club or firing range would be my best bet, but for the time being to put a couple rounds through to get a feel for the gun, are there any public ranges near the Milford Ma area taht I could go send a couple (hundred) rounds through my recent purchase

There are many members of this forum that belong to Hopkinton Sportsmen's Club, and would be happy to take you over as a guest. I can recommend HSA; it's a great club, well worth the investment of joining.

They give you a LTC in Milford?!?!.. I was in that town this afternoon and they wouldn't even let me pump my own gas!! [bs1]

Just WOw I say!

I was handed my LTC A in Milford, they didn't even call my references.

+1. Great club. Just needs more deer for me :D

Milford is reputed to be reasonable and fair regarding the issuance of LTC-A/unrestricted. The only downside of Milford is if they do 209A or other non-evidence confiscation of your guns, the department will get them to a bonded warehouse ASAP and is not eager to cooperate in effecting a lawful non-warehouse transfer.

The guy that doesn't know jack about .223/5.56mm and AR platform that was on the Jeff Kuener show from Hopkinton is close.

There are several good clubs in the area: Southborough, Hopkinton and Woodville (all in hopkinton); Maspenock in Milford.

Visit them, and see what the facilities are, and how they fit your present and anticipated needs.

I'm at Southborough; if you want the nickel tour, the best time is on a sunday, we're open for trap and skeet 1-4, and there are people to show you around.

Welcome!

Isn't Maspenock a rimfire-only club?

I think rimfire inside only at Maspenock. I was there a few months ago with a buddy who is a member and we were shooting everything on the outdoor ranges.
