Practical Implications of H4885 for Purchasing and Possessing

You mean “Vertical grip and OAL is under 26” and it’s an AOW (and requires a tax stamp).”

Why does Federal law not care? Basically, because a brace or pistol tube can have any length barrel if the lower was born into a pistol, right? Can’t go to a pistol if the lower was previously a rifle is what I remember.
yes, vertical grip

OAL is what helps define a SBR, SBS and "other". Go read the federal pistol definition. No OAL in the definition.

Read the law? What a novel concept. I thought this was NES and we are supposed take some random dudes opinion as gospel. Unless this is blessed by milktree and/or pastera I'm going to take it with a grain of salt and not put an OAL on my AOW because its just not worth getting pulled over on my way home from the range.

Question…

A lot of grips calling themselves “vertical” grips BUT they are angled, such as the BCM in the pic below. It’s not truly vertical and is at an observable angle.

What are your thoughts?

Legal on a pistol build or are dogs getting shot?

The ATF has stated that angled grips do not make an AOW from a handgun

I can’t imagine that grip is angled enough to not be considered a vertical grip. If you were talking something like this, then sure:

Personally I wouldn’t be comfortable assuming that, given the potential consequences.
Oh, I totally understand that.

Hence why I’m asking and if push actually did come to shove, I know what vertical means, I just don’t want to have to spend a ton in legal fees to do so.

ETA: adding this to my range bag tools. Lol

At first I was a little confused but 18 USC 921 lumps pistol in with the term “firearm” which is extremely broad.

is there any confirmation that reloading components are subject to the ammo sales logging?

lots of chatter a few months ago speculating that they would be, but does anyone have 1st hand knowledge that when buying reloading components one must fill out the form. TY.

You are already on the list. They know you have and LTC and the guns you have. but sure they will ignore all that and come after you for those Federal Premium Gold Small Pistol #100M Match Primers.

you're lucky you're an hour away.. or I'd drive up there and NOT buy primers from you.. ;)

I just lost my mostly 50% off Black Friday deal at Primary Arms. After placing the order I got the usual confirmation emails that I ignored. Mixed in with them was one asking me to confirm that I'm a good boy and will obey my state's laws. They waited a week for me to click the green box then cancelled the order. Now everything is full price again.

That sucks.

At least they are still shipping to Massachusetts, unlike a lot of places.

When did that change? I thought they became immediately illegal, per the discussions that were taking place when the bill came out.
It was always in the language - A current FID holder can retain any semiautos that they currently own until the permit expires but can not acquire any semiautos or retain any past expiration.
