Few probably don't already know about the problem with the bolt, but the YT guy clearly shows not only how the front trunnions are improperly riveted but also how the trunnions are improperly machined.

Time-indexed:

Interestingly, the chamfering on the top trunnion holes, which should not be there, _could_ give better-than-spec strength if PSA used swell-neck rivets there along with actually using them for the bottom holes as they are supposed to do.

Machining the trunnion improperly and using the incorrect rivets in general is the kind of 90s-era bush league garbage reminiscent of how Inter Ordnance and other trash outfits did their builds.

It's good info for the suckers who already bought PSA AKs that a MAC 90 bolt can be used to replace the OEM bolt, though.

fascinating, how can one screw up an AK?
  • Put in flat instead of swell-neck rivets in the bottom rivet holes of the trunnions?
  • Chamfer what are supposed to be the straight upper rivet holes in the trunnions?
  • Incorrectly design the bolts so the firing pins overextend?

Shocked that a big vendor targeting skinflints almost exclusively would screw something like that up. SHOCKED. [rofl]

Leave it to the p*ssies that won't ship anything to MA.
it`s just even poorest africans somehow manage to clone AKs more or less ok, so, just odd. it is not exactly a hi-tech. it`s an AK.
but, whatever.
