[Q] AK47 or AR15 without buttstock in MA?

Guys,

I'm looking for my first AR or AK, been reading pro and cons for a week.
Is there any AR15 or AK47 in MA(Mass compliance) that doesn't have the buttstock and where can I get it?

If i can't find this i properly buy the low level M&P 15 (Sport or OR) just for normal fun range time.

A normal AR will need a stock (buffer tube), but there are many AK pistols/underfolders available.

TTBOMK, the only time you'll see an AR or AK that truly has no stock is if it is a pistol configuration.

You are only allowed to have a functioning folding stock in MA if the rifle is pre-ban (made before September 1994).

It may be possible to get an AR pistol in MA by using a Carbon-15 type upper and lower and something like a lightweight 7-10" barrel as you can get under the maxmimum weight requirement. I've seen Professional Ordnance AR pistols that met all MA AWB requirements.

What did they do to get around the barrel shroud restriction? Or do you have to shoot with a glove/hold the mag well?
