Is it frowned upon to pick up brass (to reload) that isn't yours? I'm not talking about standing behind some guy while he shoots and snagging his brass. I'm talking about those few times when someone leaves without sweeping up. Maybe doing a little extra sweeping up and picking out whatever caliber you use?

If someone leaves a mess and you clean it up, it's yours. I know people here will have stories of people grabbing others brass before it hits the ground, which is obviously different. I'd say you are good to go!

picking through the used brass bucket is frowned upon if your club s like most that sells their used brass, but anything on the ground is fair game in my book as long as the shooter has left it and is not still shooting as you dive through their area catching it as it falls.

At my club, the rule that was communicated to me is : If you pick it up off the floor, you can keep it. Do not, take it out of the brass bucket.

fair enough but your club should really consider something moderately secure to keep the brass pickers away. Like take a 55 gal drum and put a funnel on the bung hole as the disposal hopper. even with rule and honest club members it's really hard for some folks to comprehend they can't take something someone left as trash

That's what they have. :)
