I'd think I've settled on MRA, but I'm not sure. Anyone have any input on where I should go? And why? Some clubs just don't put enough info on their websites, and driving club to club would take forever with my whole 4 days off in a month.

I'm a member at Georgetown Fish and Game. I like it there a lot, but I heard rumors that becoming a member may be getting tougher. We took in 25 new folks last month.
Harvard Sportsmans Club is the nicest club I have seen around here. They seem to have a little bit of everything, and are very well maintained. I am not a member there (yet) because it is a bit of a hike for me. But I think it is worth the hour drive for me at least once a month.

For proximity, MRA is for sure you're best option. I've never been there but I hear it's nice.

If you're wiling to drive ~30min Harvard Sportsmen's Club is a great club to join.

Indoor Pistol and .22LR rifle - Mystic Valley Gun Club (Malden) - No Fudd rules that I know of, 24 hour keycard access

Outdoor and/or Rifle and Pistol - MRA seems like the next closest option, but they have some restrictions concerning round limits, access to the outdoor ranges. (Not a member, just what I've read on their site/range rules/application). I believe the indoor ranges are also 24 hour.

I'll probably end up joining MRA at some point just to be able to shoot my rifles somewhere close.

I used to belong to mystic valley when I only owned pistols- nice clean club with 24/7 access, but the common area always smells like a bingo hall from the early 90's. I now belong to MRA in Woburn its a great club in my opinion if you can't make it to Harvard. The office is open on Wednesday nights for a tour or sign ups.

I commute to HSC from Waltham and its usually a 25 minute drive down rt 2 unless you hit traffic. Check it out during an open to the public Wednesday practice.

WSA is on the Bedford/Billerica line of Middlesex Rd. Pretty close to Burlington. PM me if you want a tour!

It really all depends on what you want. If you have a list of must haves, I'm sure you will get better advice. For me a must have was 24/7 indoor range. A big plus was being able to shoot rifles indoors as well. That's how I ended up at MRA. I tend to go on off-hours but the people I have bumped into there are really cool.

If I wanted to do more outdoor and action type shooting, I would have gone elsewhere. Maybe some day I'll join HSC as well, but for now MRA is exactly what I want in a club.

I'd recommend my fine club (Worcester Pistol and Rifle) but I suspect it might be too far away for you. If you are interested, shoot me a PM and I'll provide any info you need.

MRA's strengths are the indoor range, 24hr access, and the upstairs (also indoors) .22 range. For anything else (i.e., outdoor shooting, longer range rifle, etc.), Harvard is the way to go. I belong to both, MRA is a little closer to me, but when I shoot it's almost always at Harvard.

Crazy weekend had me wrapped up.

I'm new to Civilian shooting, but have been shooting with the National Guard for a few years. Right now focusing on Pistol, but I'd like to get into rifle, learning more about matches and figuring out which direction I'd like to head in. I got a PM offering a tour of MRA and I'll take them up on it.

Mag limits are kind of a downer. But it's not the end of the world. I like the 24/7 access. Idea. I'm still up for hearing oppinions
