I am building out my stock 870 because, well, I enjoy it, and I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a non picatinny light mount for an 870? I found an Elzetta mount that appears OK, but at 50 bucks, I would rather ask you guys first before I pull the trigger.

For what it's worth I installed a light mount like this onto a Remington 870 Marine Magnum, 12GA, and it has worked exceptionally well:

Placed a Streamlight TLR-2 onto it, which has a light and laser that can be either independently operated or together. It is strong, highly operable, and very accurate... Would do it again in a heartbeat. In addition, it can be transferred to other guns (such as my Glock 19, 3rd Gen), whether rifle or pistol with rails. Good luck, Johnny

At the PD, we have after market foreends that allow you to screw in a Surefire 6P, with a switch integrated on the pump. They are a tad bulky, but work well.

Edit: disregard, they're probably cost prohibitive...

About as much as the gun itself NIB.

Not when you buy a trade-in PD gun that comes with it! Cost me an extra $100 over what the same gun w/o the Surefire forearm/light would have cost. Ask JJ, he's the one that talked me into it. [smile]

I have the Surefire fore end . Nice set up .

Yes indeed, it's a very nice setup.
