S&W 1911 E-Series Curved But - Price?

gotta admit, I just acquired one off a nice member here, and i LOVEEEEE IT

Did you get the all black one in the classifieds that came with accessories? If so that was a steal lol. If it wasn't sold when I saw the ad I'd be tempted to pair it with my two tone one haha.

Either way congrats on it.

Why must the bobtail only come in scandium! Arrrrghghghghghghgh!

Well...because it makes sense because it's for carry....

...but still! It looks cool and I want it as a range gun!

I found my full size stainless online at grabagun for 750. They are out of stock now but gunbroker has a bunch probably more $ though

The scandium bobtail is a really fun range toy as well as perfect carry option. I have the full size stainless E Series 1911TA and the scandium bobtail and last night the full size didn't even come out of my bag. Blasted the heck out of some paper with the bobtail!!!! You would think that the lighter weight would make the gun harder to control but that just isn't the case.

I actually worry more about long term durability than I do about weight. I suppose it's because of the issues with scandium J-Frames that I think that way.

Ugh, I might just have to get the bobtail. It's just so friggin cool lookin. lol

I'll tell yah, I have absolutely no regrets in purchasing mine. The thing is a dream to shoot -- and to look at! [smile]

Just have your stainless one bobbed. I have a friend locally who bought the jig from brownells. If you buy a bobbed MSH, I know he will hook you up at a decent price.

haha yes sir, you are correct. I had to jump on it as soon as I saw it, right time, right place i guess. Add it to my small collection of S&W firearms. I wanted the Two tone one !!! lol but the deal was too hard to pass up and black is definitely still very sharp.

I have put a couple hundred rounds through mine and I love it more and more. It seems to shoot a little low though so I need to aim a little high. Wondering is this is just me or if I am doing something wrong...

I had the same problem and then shot mine from a solid bench rest to check the gun out for accuracy.....it was me dropping my arms slightly after the trigger pull and now I concentrate a bit and hit the bullseye consistently. I need to go shoot some tonight after work.

I will have to try that. I am sure I am doing something similar. This gun had me develop a severe flinch the first time I had it out with several casings ejecting directly into my safety glasses. I had to put it away for a while and then bring it back so I didn't have the "is it going to nail me in the face" every time I pulled the trigger haha.

Mine does the same thing once in awhile but wearing a ball cap with a fairly long bill helps.

Mine has done it about 2 times out of 100 rounds. Luckily I had read about it doing that before I shot it for the first time. [laugh]
I couldn't tell if it was ejecting straight to my face or bouncing off the wall and then hitting me though.
