Details on the FSB please. Looks like its got the wings for holding a cleaning rod. Did you cut off the old one and pin the new one?
I've only done one Saiga with new gas block and front sight block swap, and that was because it was an older Saiga with pinned on blocks and I had a Bulgarian set that had exact dimensions for the pins.
The idea of profiling and pinning a barrel with leaving the sight canted scares the hell outa me. My 410 was a nightmare that I'll probably rework one of these days.

what's the price tag on that parabellum armament rail??? i checked out their website but there are no prices. wondering how it compares to the TWS dog leg @ $139.

but Ryan...

to me, an AK needs wood furniture, battle sights, hi-cap mags, and a sling....no rails, no scopes, no adjustable stocks, no BS!!! classic look, ya know?? all these "tactical" AK's are not my cup-o-tea.

Lou,

Thanks for hooking this one up! To answer some questions:

The AKARS rail system is about $120...they are super back ordered with the production of this project as well as a left hand charging handle. AIMsurplus is a dealer for them as well. Tell the Parabellum guys we sent ya!

The FSB was already like that on the rifle i had given Lou. It was kicking around in my safe for a few years before i decided it needed a face life. I had forgotten to take a before picture of the gun before i dropped it off to Lou so pulled out another saiga sporter from the safe to snap a quick pic not even realizing the differences.
Sorry for the confusion!

I had a quad rail and vert grip on my zastava but I hated the extra front weight. So I decided to put the original forend back and I modified a tapco gas cover for now. I also ripped off the stupid rail on the dust cover. Useless thing. The rifle feels like a feather in my hands now compared to my original set up.

I will be getting an ultimak with a micro dot. Saves me 50 bucks over getting a TWS dust cover replacement because I still have to buy another m70 gas cover (which aren't in high demand) and the TWS is 30 bucks more than the ultimak.
