I recently purchased a savage axis in 243, and boy was I surprised! I had ordered the black synthetic stock model, but a mis-pick led to a camo model being shipped. The piece came with a bushnell scope which is neither spectacular or poor, but the real surprise was shooting the axis. The trigger was smooth, and broke very clean out of the box with the bolt being very smooth and sure. After a few minutes of testing a couple different rounds I had the gun shooting sub 1" groups with cheap 90gr Partizan ammo, pretty awesome considering the gun cost less than 400 bucks and came with the scope. Overall I am very pleased with the gun, and will post pictures as soon as possible! Internet on the side of the mountain is poor as it is dial up.
