Savage bolt action light strikes

My son in law's 30 06 is giving him some light strikes. I haven't pulled the bolt apart yet. Figured I'd ask you guys first what I should be looking for. Thx Pete

If he's the first owner and the gun hasn't been tampered with my first thought is congealed grease/oil or crud inside the bolt.

Hardly anyone cleans the anti corrosive gunk off new guns.
Heck most dont even give the bore a swab or two

Give it a proper cleaning.

Also what model , how old , what ammo

My buddy was trying to shoot some old korean surplus in his ruger M77. It did not like it at all.
Im also pretty sure it was the crap korean M2 with either pressure issues or corrosive.

Does it have the accutrigger? If you dont pull the trigger squarely back sometimes the trigger slips (for lack of a better way to put it) and the gun sounds like it should have fired but didn't.
