Hi, I acquired a very nice Sako L46, 222 Remington. It came with peep and no scope. I'm looking for suggestions for scope for this rifle. Any ideas will be appreciated! Thank you,

Deserves something nice....don't fret you can shoot pretty good groups with that peep sight.

Leupold VX-3i 2.5-8x36mm or VX-3i 4.5-14x50mm are less expensive options...depends on what you want to do with it, too...

I am very fortunate to have the Riihimaki! It came to me as an inheritance, I didn't even know my old friend owned it till his widow informed me that he wanted me to have his guns! This was the best of the group. I've never inherited anything before!

Go take it for a run. Try it with just the peep . You maybe pleasantly surprised at just how well it shoots with just that rear aperture sight. The 222 is a fine cartridge. A bit out of date but still a great accurate round.
Zero it at around .5" high at 50 yards you can basically hit anything within 2-2.5" out to 250 yards. With a 40 grain bullet it's probably close with the heavier bullets.
I never shot anything over 52grains. I was sad when my dad sold that 222

Your old friend thought highly of you and has really left you quite a treasure.......enjoy it Sir.

I shoot .222 and they are know to be very precise.

Your gun is renowned for delivering that in an exquisite package.

Thanks mac1911. I will be shooting it sans scope. But I plan to keep this perfect antique, and I want to
add a nice scope. I'm always adding something to personalize the gun. I'm not drilling it, so if I ever
want the scope removed, it's right back to original condition. Next thing is to find some varmint hunting.

Should find plenty out in that corner of v the state....3 states around you for good critter blasting.
Find some 50 grain ballistic tip and dropping coyote or other varmin.
