Hi All,
I know that the top of the barrel gets worn down, and I might just be overly anxious about my brand new xd sub compact getting worn down, but I was wondering if the deep off colored scratches in the top of the barrel or normal or if its scraping against the slide "too hard". When I rack the slide, it feels like its getting "ripped" across the bottom of the inside of the slide... I dont know if it needs to get worn in, or if theres something more afoot, or if I'm just being overly "sensitive"... Now for the pics so you can see what I'm talking about. First 2 are just regular, third has the copper colored deep scrapes circled. Just as an aside, I clean and lube/grease up the gun after each use, and the barrel and inside of the slide are adequately covered in lube... Shoots great, but I'm more worried about the aesthetics I guess, or if theres more than usual "scrapage".
