As for that, most of the desirable places to live are privately owned. Are we going to FORCE landowners to give up unoccupied land to build ghettos for the masses? BLM may own billions of acres of those deserts and tundras, but try living there with no roads, no power, no supermarkets, no jobs...

It simply isn't possible to allow the sheers numbers of immigrants that need places to go.

It isn't reasonable to allow ANY person into this country unless it directly benefits those already citizens of this country. It isn't enough that it sucks where they come from. Benefit US and come here in numbers that can reasonably be absorbed. You know, like this stuff USED to be handled.

Look at how many great places to live .gov owns out in the western states. The government owns little land on the east coast, and huge amounts of land further west. No need to force anyone off private land for these ghettos when you could put them in the oodles of public property that is out there.

I don't believe it's a case of excluding people based on race or religion, at least for most here. I believe it's a case of better safe then sorry. Be sure of who you're letting into your home and if you can't be sure, don't let them in until such time that you are sure.
Did you watch the video that Derek had posted. Many maybe even most may not be terrorists but a large percentage hold what many here would consider radical views such as sharia law that aren't compatible with our values and beliefs.

I get it though the, same crap happened at the beginning of WW II with the jews fleeing Europe and every other time there were refugees. I just thought as Americans we were better than that. As a country we are we are roughly 83% Christian much like those Westboro baptits folks yes for some strange reason our churches don't see anywhere near the 83% attend services on any regular basis but we are unique in the world where we proclaim to be of a certain faith but in reality are nothing of the sort. I get it we can't vet these people because they live in stone huts and are backwards sand don't have internet.

And all we have to do is spend billions of dollars for roads, housing, schools, hospitals, markets, fire, police, transit, other public services, power plants, farms, water supply and whatever else it takes to support a few hundred million immigrants and then all we have to do is pay for the EBT and Obamacare costs as there will be little or no work for them.

why do we need to build any of that, and where are you getting the "few hundred million immigrants number from? last I heard it was 10,000 I bet they would be ecstatic to move to anywhere they didn't have to worry about being shot, beheaded, hung or burned to death.

Sure! The Bundy ranch is huge, with plenty of cattle. .Gov will find a way to supply the rest. We rich US citizens have plenty of money to pay for the resettlement.

why do you assume they have no money or marketable skills, the reason they vast majority that are already hear is due to our welfare system, the government wants slaves, and even on welfare don't fool yourselves these people are not working under the table. our government is the problem not the people our government has screwed over
 
The Arab Muslim culture, as witnessed in the Middle East , past and present over hundreds of years, cannot be compared with any other culture as regards their treatment of their own citizens and neighboring countries. The immigration of massive amounts of so called refugees, as well as regular immigrants can only change our country for the worse.

So, privatize the refugee/immigration system? Or do you imagine the government will mend it's ways so your 10,000 (LOL) immigrants will be self supporting?

Go ahead, bring in 10k refugees, dump them in the Dakota badlands, see how fast you get put away for crimes against humanity. Hitler will get Christmas cards before you do!

Your refugees will be a drain on this country. You can fantasize that they will become doctors, lawyers, scientists. But the reality is they will receive benefits that you and I have to pay for. At least, I assume you work.

Why are you so intent on getting those people here? To help with the burning you promoted a few posts back, or do you have some sort of white guilt complex going on?

This is one reason that I am skeptical to the point of opposition of US government plans to "help" Syrian "refugees".

Minority religion refugees (ex. Christian, Jewish, Zoroastrian) from Muslim areas should IMNSHO have first place in the line, not Muslims who have other choices, are less likely to share the basic values our society is based on (ex. freedom of <insert Constitution>), and will seek to make the US a Muslim country by ballot or bullet.

If we are going to help refugees, we should be helping the real refugees who have nowhere to go and no one to speak for them. That would be true compassion.
