Smith and Wesson Model 28-2 4"

Well, this is my first post! Kind of a sad one though.

I recently bought a 28-2 357mag revolver at KTP. I'm a revolver guy, and this is not my first, or second, or third, or........you get the point.

As is the case with any used gun I purchase, I brought it home to clean it. When I popped the side plate off, the trigger pivot stud came out! Because I'm within the 30 day window with KTP, I'll return it, but I really hope that there is a fix for this! The gun is in decent shape!

Has any one else had issues of this nature? How was it repaired and how much did it cost?

Your thoughts on the matter are greatly appreciated!

I've heard of newer guns with that problem and SW repaired/replaced them, but I doubt that something that old would be fixed by SW. Wouldn't hurt to ask them though.

Well, i brought it back to ktp(kittery trading post) and they are sending it back to smith and wesson on their dime! Might have to get reblued because the stud does technically come throgh the frame. We'll see how it goes!
