So they are being sold now with upgrades at places like Four Seasons for around $1500.00. Does anyone have it and could they share their opinions? I know one menber of the forum speaks highly of them and his experiance is vast, so there is one positive nod. Anyone else?

Thanks.

I think that is fair a price. I like FS, you can buy from them with confidence.

I own an M1A SOCOM, which I love. I plan on getting an 18" or a 22" at some point. The only thing I don't like SA is that they don't use chrome lined barrel. But, that's probably not too big a deal.

If it is the "Loaded" model you are talking about, $1500 isn't out of line.

Good rifle. You won't be disappointed.

The "Loaded" SA M1A is an excellent rifle. I ordered one through Four Seasons a few years ago for around $1200 with the black stock. I've shot several thousand rounds through her without any issues. Also very accurate. Been able to consistantly hit clay pigeons from a bench at 150 yrds with the iron sights. Plenty accurate for me. If you get it, you will not be dissapointed. Only down side is the price of 308 ammo now a days. Then again, the same can be said for all ammo.

I have a loaded M1A with stainless barrel and walnut stock. I've only shot it twice but it's AWESOME.

I have the same model as Paul D and it's a great rifle. It's heavy which makes it very pleasant to shoot. If you scope it, you'll need to add a strap on cheek piece to raise the comb height. Smith Enterprises makes a nice one.

I've been thinking about an M1A myself.

Do people prefer the walnut stock or fiberglass?

When you get a "loaded" rifle, what more does it come with?

Thanks...from a newbie

Per SA's site, you get the following with a "loaded"

- NM trigger
- NM front sight
- NM barrel (carbon steel or stainless)
- NM flash supressor
- non hooded rear sight.

I got a walnut stock because I like the look.
