i have a beautiful ( to me anyway ) stevens 335 side by side and one of the firing pins broke.
both i and the guys at my home gun shop have been searching for a few months and have had ZERO luck finding new or used ones.
does anyone know a gun smith or machinist with-in driving distance of me who would undertake making and properly heat treating a couple new ones for me ???
i have no idea how hard a firing pin needs to be so it would have to be a gun savy machinist i suppose.
or even better, does anyone have some secret source for old shotgun parts that i wouldn't have found on my own by now. ( YES i check numrich weekly )

thanks

i had already planned to replace both with new and keep the one that is still good as a back up.

thanks guys calling wisners to see if they really are in stock tomorrow ( assuming they are closed today )

aww boo! im sure if you had the measurements of the pin or a schematic the fellows at Balgen machine in west stockbridge could help. those gentlemen are very skilled!

Dom

chris is good ( though a bit expensive ) but it's the proper heat treating that i am concerned about.

i'll wait for wisners to reopen next week, they're only $13- each

UPDATE

wisners was closed for an additional 2 weeks because the man and woman that run the place were sick, but got her on the phone two weeks ago and my firing pins arrived on saturday.

thanks everybody, i'm happy again [smile]
