Suspect in custody following spate of stabbing attacks in Seattle: Police

Five people were stabbed in Seattle on Friday, marking the latest incident in a string of stabbings over the past two days in the same area, police said.

A suspect was taken into custody following Friday's stabbing attack, which appeared to be random, Seattle Police Deputy Chief Eric Barden told reporters at a press briefing... Four of the victims were transported to a local hospital in various conditions, including one who still had a knife in them, Barden said. A fifth victim was treated and released at the scene, police said... The first incident occurred early Thursday, in which a 52-year-old woman was stabbed eight times, police said.

Unless it's me or mine being stabbed I'm not shooting anybody.

I'm not about to go to jail like Daniel Penny for defending somebody who would rather see me in jail.

I'd sooner watch a defenseless unarmed liberal bleed to death than go to jail for the rest of my life.

That same person likely does not support my right to carry, anyway.

Absolutely true.

Obviously, and I agree. I never implied anything different!

$2 mil bail, prior warrants, age 37, but name remains unknown?

By the description, there seem to be some similarities between the suspect held, and the one that was released after the third stabbing.

Stabbing 3:Eighth Avenue Southand South Jackson Street

At 8:09 p.m. Thursday, a male victim was stabbed multiple times in the chest, back, and hands. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Officers began to look for a suspect in connection to the third stabbing. The suspect was described as a Black 40-year-old man about six feet tall, 200 pounds, and wearing a puffy jacket with green pants.

Police found and detained a suspect, but witnesses told officers they were not sure if it was the correct suspect. The man detained, however, had a felony warrant and the SPD said he was booked into King County Jail for that warrant.

SEATTLE (AP) — A 37-year-old man who police say stabbed five people in Seattle in broad daylight Friday and possibly four others the day before made his first court appearance Saturday where a judge ordered him held on $2 million bail.

“People who live in and travel to the Chinatown-International District deserve to feel safe and be safe,” said King County Prosecuting Attorney Leesa Manion after the judge found probable cause to hold him on five counts of first-degree assault.

In setting the high bail amount, the judge noted that the man had a warrant out for his arrest. He also has nine felony convictions in Washington state that include four car thefts, possession of stolen property, robbery and attempted burglary, according to the probable cause report.
