LAINFIELD, N.H. (AP) - Neighbors of convicted tax evaders Ed and Elaine Brown reported police SWAT teams and at least one armored vehicle assembling near the Browns' Plainfield (New Hampshire) home this morning.

Federal and state authorities haven't commented on whether they are moving in to arrest the fugitives, but road blocks have been set up and inquiries are being referred to the U.S. Marshal's office. The office has been negotiating with the Browns since their tax evasion conviction in January. The Browns have been holed up in their home and have said they will not surrender.

A plane carrying an Associated Press photographer was ordered away from the property this morning.

Ed Brown told a blog interview this morning that he also has gotten calls about the police activity, and that he heard low-flying aircraft during the night. Brown also said a friend who took the Brown's dog out for a walk this morning did not return, though the dog did.

One neighbor said a caravan of armored vehicles and many police cars passed his house this morning, headed toward the Browns' property.

The Browns have been sentenced to five and a half years in prison for tax evasion. They skipped their sentencing hearings.

The rumor is that their house is on fire. Let us pray this isn't another Ruby Ridge.
