Takedown rifles

Are you referring to the M6 ?

No, this:

The GAU-5A

The rifle was set up to fit in the survival pack under the pilots seat.
so the barrel would come off, and the grip will fold.View attachment 960245

Question is do you want an autoloader, single shot, or pump/lever action? And do you want rimfire or not?

Instead of a single shot, I'd rather have a combination gun because I find the versatility to be high between having a shotgun and a rifle. Chiappa makes some nice looking ones called the Double Badger and I'd pay for that over an M6 Scout repro anyday.

Chiappa also makes takedown lever actions, but they're not cheap.

For autoloaders that aren't rimfire, it's that what the AR already is? A takedown?

Got one from to 70's....Jap not Belgian unfortunately. Cool gun.

The quality of the currently made Miroku guns is excellent.
I have a Chinese made Norinco knock-off of the SA-22, they sold these here back in the 90's for short money, IIRC, I paid about $100 for it.
It functions just as well as the Browning, and parts are interchangeable, the big difference is in the wood and metal the finish, which is expected for the price. However, that's also what makes it a good gun to use out in the woods, if you scratch it, no big deal.
Unfortunately, importation was banned by the gov in 2003. There are some out there for sale, but the current price is in the $300-400 range, which is still far less than the genuine Browning.

I picked this up a while back. Haven’t used it yet. But it should be fun.

Get the barrel fitness nut adjusted so you get a solid lockup and go shoot! These rifles are as precise as the regular 1022's. Anyone who tells you otherwise has no clue how to setup a 1022 takedown.

P.S. Don't waste your time with this stock, get the Magpul takedown stock

My SBR takes care of any short rifle needs at 21", but I do have a Winchester 1897 takedown

I think that Chiappa Alaskan @SS1 posted, just made my need to get list, it'll only be my second lever gun and still fits my policy of no new calipers. Really dodged a bullet there, wasn't sure what gun I'd be getting next.

Ruger Backpacker

Shoots soft
Can take Glock mags
Lots of aftermarket upgrades if you like

This is what I have for my go bag small takedown carbine, with couple boom sticks..... that fit the two glock 47's in the bag as well.

The only other thing Id consider is an 9mm AR that takes glock mags. But unlikely..think if I switched over Id go to a 300 blackout pistol, if I changed and add a 300 blackout AR in the bag. Or guess could do the reverse and add a 10" 5.56 pistol in the bag. Prefer just one rifle caliber and one pistol caliber only.
Im starting to love the blackout, but the ammo supply on it is low. I need to bump it up.

I have a TNW Aero Survival rifle in 9mm. I wish I could recommend it. Heck, I wish I could shoot the damn thing, but last Thursday the trigger broke after firing one round at the range. This is the 4th time I've had to send the rifle (or in this case, just the lower) to Oregon for service.

If I could buy a .300 BLK braced pistol in Massachusetts, I'd ditch it. As is, I'm seriously thinking of switching to the Ruger Backpacker.
I have the Ruger takedown pcc 9 , has ran flawlessly for me.

Personally I've always wanted something from randy. Option to switch out barrels for caliber options. Specializes in bolt actions. Personally I've wanted a custom semi auto scout rifle in 308. But I wasn't sure of what the donor model should be. Not sure they'd want to do it either.

I’ve wanted to do a multi-barrel BLR takedown setup, but Browning won’t sell you spare barrels for any caliber except for the one your rifle left the factory as.

I know there was at least one gunsmith who used to make spare 375 Raptor barrels for the BLR, but I don’t think he’s in business anymore.

I have the Ruger PCC with the Magpul furniture. I love the gun, but it is certainly no where near light in weight. If you have shoulder issues I’m not sure how it would feel to you.

Call me nuts, but I think that an AR is close enough to a takedown. 2 pins to push, that’s it. You get a better cartridge than those fagotty PCCs, and 22s (I own one) are more of a little girl/super whimp thing.

My SP5 fits in a regular sized backpack, just not as accurate past 35 yards or so as a takedown rifle would be.

I think i need a takedown rifle now. Closest I can get is my AR broken down but the upper is kinda long.

Maybe an AR with an 8" barrel?

Haven't seen one I liked in this thread yet.

The thing I hate about these types of threads is it always makes me want another gun. And then I get it. lol.

So now I want even more guns because of all the other rifles and guns posted here. 😆

G4Y4HK started a thread a while back about accessing 10/22’s.

So I got one.

I have a highly suggestive personality.

LMFAO.
You really need a big chopper knife, like a Busse HOGFSH, hasn't been made in 15 years..

I just so happen to be listing one for sale pretty soon!

You are hella lucky, not many of these were made and they rarely go on sale.

You can flex on the poors, then decapitate them and chop their lifeless body into small unrecognizable and easily disposable pieces with this knife.

Keltec S2K is fine. Might look like Florida Man melted some happy meal plastic toys to build it but when it comes down to reliability, it's built for business. That said, my preferred take down now is a 300 BLACKED riffle-pistol. Screw a can on her o lawdy she hisses rounds like an angry cat.

I had to look up 7.62x35.. Thought it was a troll lol

I see that is 300 Blacked.. Do those rounds fit in a regular AK mag?

Same kinda setup here, only with Law folder and brace.
I went with the SB brace that gets really short. 300 Blackout and 5.56 uppers (10.5" and 10" barrels) as configured make for pretty short overall items when complete.

I've thought about the Law folder item before, just never got one. Not sure if I'd like it better than the brace in the picture above.
