They fit AR mags. Don't accidentally mix up 5.56 and 300blk rounds or you'll have a bad day.

Depends which barrel you try to shoot which round out of. 5.56 out of a 7.62 x 35 barrel, day isn’t ruined. 7.62 x 35 out of a 5.56 barrel, day probably ruined.

I went with the SB brace that gets really short. 300 Blackout and 5.56 uppers (10.5" and 10" barrels) as configured make for pretty short overall items when complete.

I've thought about the Law folder item before, just never got one. Not sure if I'd like it better than the brace in the picture above.

Does a 300 BLK round even chamber in a 5.56 barrel?

According to the inner webs and YouTube, yes. Probably especially those with a shorter COAL. May not reach the end of the chamber but the cartridge could be pushed far enough to where the gun goes into battery. Then bad things happen. Actually, I’m pretty sure there are videos that demonstrate this. I believe it could happen. There are a lot of ways that owners of both calibers mitigate the risk of mixing them up, but the risk is there.

my buddy accidentally chambered a 556 round in a PSA Ak-47. We were all disappointed, thinking it broke (it was brand new) then I literally kicked the action open and we found the 556 round. I have two very distinct mags only use for my 300 blackout AR, I’m so afraid of screwing that up.

This is why my 300 upper has an engraved dustcover. Initially, I was building it as a fixed mag (pistol) to further prevent confusion. At least for now, I intend to never bring it to the range with its 223 siblings.

That is a solid idea as well. I have two clear 10 round Lancer mags for it that are for 300 blackout only, as this is going to be a hunting rifle only. Those are the only two mags like that I own, and I may even like wrap some orange duct tape around them. I'm super paranoid after the AK mishap.

I bought a clear lancer for that build, for a similar reason.
