Taunton Rifle and Pistol Club

Final outdoor steel plate shoot of the season tomorrow. Setup at 9-ish, first shots at 10.

Expect it to be unusually busy at the outdoor range tomorrow as the weather should be amazing.

November monthly meeting was yesterday. It was 95% a normal meeting, except that there were no minutes from the previous month to read. The pot from the 50/50 raffle was $70 total. New members read & accepted.

The early renewal raffle was drawn after the meeting. #1 was contacted shortly thereafter. As most of the prizes are gift cards, gift certificates and similar, I suspect these will be out in the mail shortly.

There may be a November steel plate shoot @ outdoor range, depending upon the weather. We're at least going to make the attempt.

The 300 yard gate has been upgraded to a card reader and mag lock, as on the main gate. If you have access to the 300, your card will open this. Sensor is on the left side as you face the sign. When closing the gate, please be sure to do so with a bit of authority so it latches correctly. IMG_20241120_084537488_HDR.jpg

Quick reminder: please, please get your dues in by the 31st. At least get them in the mail and postmarked by the 31st. It will be substantially easier for everyone.

If you're not sure whether you've paid...see if the check has been deposited. If you paid cash, you can send a quick email to info@tauntonrifleandpistol.org

2.5 weeks until the end of the year.

Thanks all, and hope you're primed for a very merry, festive, seasonally appropriate whatever.

I'm thinking of joining this club. I have 2 questions:

1. Website says 1-year wait time for new applications, is this still the case or (I'm hoping) is it outdated?
2. Do any of the outdoor ranges have steel targets that get left up by the club, or is it all "bring your own"?

It isn't quite a year, but it's close. It isn't a formal "everyone has to wait a year so we know you're serious"; it's because the club only accepts 25 new memberships per month --- and there are a bunch of people who want access to a range.

Unfortunately we've had multiple sets of steel targets stolen [including some really nice ones] so it's BYO.
