It looks like I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on an encore (no pun intended) and will probably get the pro-hunter in a pistol configuration to start out with. Now the hard part- picking a barrel.
I'd like to get as much versatility as possible; so I'm considering:
.357 Magnum, and therefore .38 Special
.460 S&W, and therefore .454 Casull & .45 Long Colt
Are there any non-obscure combinations out there? I'd love to pick a barrel that has the option of a more powerful/pricy round or a weaker/cheaper round as well (which pretty much rules out the 460).
...or I might just go with .223 since I think it'd be fun in a pistol.
I already have .17HMR, .22LR, .300 WM, and 9mm taken care of in other ways (and I can't imagine shooting a 300 win-mag pistol...ouch)
