This Colt Gold Cup came in as just a frame, slide, spring cap and trigger. The Colt was originally nickel plated and was stripped thirty years ago. The owner did not know how or what to finish it with, so it was parkerized and but away in the back of the safe. Well it founds it's way to my bench.
The Gold Cup was fitted with a Kart barrel and a national match bushing, the bushing was surface ground to match the profile of the supplied spring cap.The slide was ball cut.
The internals are E2, hammer, disconnector and sear. Trigger is set at a crisp 3.5#. The trigger is an old school Dlask. The thumb safety is a Colt. The grip safety is bobbed which I have made for my shop. Clint of Cavery grips made a set of burl walnut to mimic Harrison Design grips. The finish is a bright blue to get as close to a Colt finish as possible.
