The Buck that didn’t get away

This is my oldest boys story, he's had a great few weeks and a freezer full of meat between NY and here. Reading his posting reminded me of the other guy on this site that spent a few days but never found his wounded deer.

Unlikely that old...the face looks younger, and the nose not that square or roman type, and body not all that big or blocky. Nice rack but a 3.5 could have that rack if the genes are good in that area. That said....just a pic is tough to tell. Have to look at the teeth.

My last deer that I shot that aged at 6.5 years old was 220 pounds dressed. Older deer generally have some good weight on them, even after the rut, your average 4.5 year old good buck is 180 dressed. Younger bucks run around a lot more during the rut and lose the weight by now.
