This reminds me of the Mosin Volleys

Was it the French or the Italians that got slaughtered by the Zulus with their samburu spears?

Not sure about the French or the Italians but the British had there butts handed to them in this battle.

There was a movie on that on as well. I get the 2 confused, there is Zulu and Zulu Dawn. One is about the battle of Rorke's Drift (the video clips in the OP) and the other about Battle of Isandlwana.

Zulu, starring Michael Caine (his first movie) and Christopher Plummer, is about the 24th Regiment of Foot holding the station at Rorke's Drift.

It also starred - as in expressly cited as the source of victory - the .577 - .450 Martini-Henry rifle.

It also makes a significant appearance in another Michael Caine movie, the superb Man Who Would Be King; with Sean Connery.

Yes, I have one.
