In Mass you used to be required to remove the entire animal so going the gutless method wouldn’t help as you would legally be required to go get the rest anyway.

I don’t know if that changed with the new wanton waste laws or not.

Ive pulled my share of 180 pound dressed bucks out of the Berkshire mountains and down in CT as well..but the biggest was 220#.

His point is valid. The 220# deer.... Fing A...the drag was short....but NFW are you doing that with a deer like that. I was all alone.... I barely got it up into the truck bed....took me three tries to get that deers hips and hind legs over the tailgate trying to pull it up by its antler bases.

You might play that game with maybe 120 pound spikers and little 100 pound shitty does...but your dragging anything over 130 pounds.
