Bring them to a FFL And they can transfer them to you. I just did this with my aunts guns.

This. / end thread.
is there a way to check if they arnt?
Not your issue. There are lots of ways guns may not be in the system legally. Bring them to an FFL and transfer them . Finished business.

……or go the “What guns” route.

If you have the proper license to posess them.......take possession of them because the guns are not being transferred over a state line.

I believe......someone may correct me if I'm wrong......you can efa10 them leaving seller info blank......same as registering a long gun that you legally purchase out of state.....I have efa10 many guns this way that I've purchased legally in nh and Maine.

You can log right onto the website. There’s a whole thing for inheritance, don’t know if it’s really mandatory. I would just put them in your safe and forget about it.

This isn’t inheritance as he didn’t inherit the firearms. It is a transfer from the person in his GF’s family who did inherit them.

The FA10 system isn’t required by law anymore under chapter 135 so this whole discussion is technically mute anyway.😉

That brings us back to just put them in the safe and make your decision when, or if, the new unfunded system comes on line.

This.....you don't need to go to a dealer if its in state. Just register in your name with FA-10 and no seller if you care about them being registered. Like Whacko said...this is how most long guns bought out of state are registered legally within 7 days of bringing into MA.

However, they likely were never registered to him anyway if bought long ago, and you can keep it that way if you like no one is going to know if you just keep it to yourself.

Honestly this...there is no registration required right now. They suspended the law.

If they are given to you and you now own them, then worry about it in 2026 or whenever the fxck the retards make their new system available. But by then, you are already the owner of them and just need to register them.

This.

Take the guns and enjoy them. They are yours now.

I'd never have started a thread like this, but that ship has sailed.

If the two guns are tricked out AR assault weapons or AK assault weapons, isn't transfer out of the question? They would have to be donated to the local police department.

I've been saying since at least 2018

Anyone, registering anything, in this climate is just plain silly. There is no reason to believe that the edict/law can’t be expanded to anything and everything. Further, having 'off the books' stuff kept off site is advisable.

Take them and her to an ffl with you having personally secured them and transfer the poor things to you. My condolences.
