I was however, the only BFS Instructor and I had several co-workers come up to me and ask how they could procure a firearm. Many thought I was the issuing authority. I explained the process and told them that many PD’s weren’t even accepting LTC/FID applications at that time, adding that by the time their LTC was issued, the current crisis would most likely be over. They stared at me in disbelief. They then stated that scenario was unacceptable and they wanted to know how to navigate the “gun show loophole”. I replied, “Nah bruh…that ain’t a real thing.” You could see their mental gears grinding to a halt as they struggled to reconcile their belief system with reality.

Guaranteed they are of the mindset "I want a gun, but I fully support more training and restrictions, guns are dangerous".
I will bet 90% of the Liberal gun owners think that way. I personally know a few that are in favor of mag capacity restrictions because "bro, I don't need 30 rounds".
They are good people because they post online that illegals should stay here ... but not in their neighborhood or homes.
But posting about it online makes them good people. They truly, truly, truly care a lot!!! ... so much they even changed their profile pic to some LATAM country's flag.
So yes, they are great people (sarc).
The operative descriptive word here is "leftist".
Unless you can change that all you have is a gun owner who will oppose you on other grounds as much as they can.
They also want a firearm to protect themselves from political persecution, but still think self-help is bad. They would want you strung up in a noose if you shot someone in defense of your own life.

If you read the very earliest threads, NES was basically some dudes that all liked guns and wanted a place they could chit chat about them without getting shade from the left.
It evolved into a place you find legal info such as how to deal with inherited guns or can you really keep a gat in the glove box, etc. And everything else gun law related.
That expanded to include almost any politics along with a curious hatred for transfolk. And the funny pics threads.

If you left your bubble and actually talked to people you’d realize it’s not. This is a leftist state. There are plenty of leftist gun owners. And unlike getting them to completely switch their political beliefs and vote right, gun rights are going to be a direct popular vote in 2026. They can vote D and still vote to repeal H4885.
Welcome them, teach them the process. Make them understand how horrible the new laws make things. Show them all the extra bs that comes with trying to get a license. Make them understand how the new ASF are written to be as ambiguous as possible. Help them realize how easily the red flag laws can be used against them.
But yea, instead of educating people who don’t know about these things, I’m sure screaming at them will absolutely work to get them to vote to repeal H4885
I'm all in on building alliances and it doesn't matter my political philosophy although my libertarian stance opens more doors in my opinion. I would protest at the state house with the socialist rifle association, pink pistols and the liberal gun club if it meant we had a decent shot at turning this state into constitutional carry and finally kicking Bloombergs money machine out of Beacon Hill.

Gun ownership doesn't have a political side to it and that's what we want. I want to see everyone in this country armed to the teeth except for maybe the few thousand everytown,march,bloomberg orgs.
