Thank you to flyer007 for letting me try a sig mosqiito, which i love! Its so nice to shoot, i would probably use that a ton for a second weapon. Maybe something like he suggested the 250 or 300 whatever is smaller. I got to try out the his 9mm glock and i was amazed at the recoil difference between the sig 239 and the glock it wasnt bad, my hands are a little beat up and sore but fun, then he let me dry fire the LEM trigger on his hk45. And i love the lem trigger. Its nice . Now just have to wait for the license to come in and start practicing with his group more often

It was fun today. You are a great student, listened well, took good direction.

The 250-300 text was for the price range of a Sig Mosquito. There is one in the classifieds right now.

Your hands with toughen up a bit with practice.

Looking forward to next time...

Glad to hear you got some more range time in.
Sounds like you had a great little selection of goodies to try.
Even got your hands on an H&K... you must still have a smile.
Enjoy :)

We need to work on some CCW methods. With her frame there's not too many places to hide a weapon.

I think adjusting her clothing style might be easier [wink]

It must be nice to get Tactical Training on Tuesday’s, I'm family and I don't even get tactical training on weekends.. :( It was good to meet you on Thursday night at pin shoot, I'm just coming up on 1 yr. of shooting and you've shoot pretty good for your 2nd or 3rd time with flyer007. Hopefully you can make next month’s pin night.

thanks , yeh i don't have alot of experience with shooting , the pin shoot was my 4th time shooting ever lol. the pin shoot goes way to long for me to do unless i have the next day off . but depending on what days i have off i might be able to go more to tactical tuesday vs. late night pin shoot. either way , its ok. most of the time i will be going to AFS, it sounds like a club lol, but its ladies night. where we all get in free range time. we outnumber the boys alot of the time as well there. every tuesday night 5-9. i like it there, not to diss the millis fff but i like afs's range better. even though they only have an indoor. but i do like medfeilds club , minus the heads on the walls , cause i hate hunting and killling an animal for sport like that . self defense sure, food, sure as long as your going to eat it .. but not trophy collecting.

Well if you shoot a deer for food, and eat it, why not mount the head? You're not likely to eat anything from the head anyways, and can get a TON of meat off the rest of an animal. Just something to consider.

All those animals were food also. The mounts for many hunters are a way to honor the animal.

I can't think of anyone I know that hunts that doesn't use the meat also.

Ranges.....to me it's the people your shooting with and getting trigger time.

AFS ladies night offers you that environment and free at that!

Ditto. I and everyone I know use the meat from what we shoot. Unless we gift it to game supper fundraisers or friends who didn't have any luck/opportunity that season.

The mounts are a momento and memorial of the hunt. I did a DIY tail mount of the first turkey I took. Every time I look at it, I remember the hunt - the kindness of the people who helped me reach that moment, the beautiful day in the field, the incredible experience of watching my first fly-down, the beautiful sight of the flock moving across the field with the toms in full strut, the moment of the kill, the emotion of harvesting an animal, the honor of having managed to complete that harvest, the experience of butchering that turkey myself, and of course the deliciousness of the resulting meals. [grin] My mount isn't a tribute to bloodlust or indiscriminate killing - it was a tribute to, and continues to be a tribute to, everyone and everything connected with that turkey's death. I doubt whether anyone's hamburger gets such consideration & remembrance - I know mine don't. That turkey, regardless of whether I ate him, was a milestone in my life and will be remembered for years. The cows and chickens I consume each week are merely commodities.

Do try to avoid painting people with such a broad brush before you find out the whole story. Ask around when/if you join a club - the mounts are often also tributes to members of the past. There's a story behind every mount, many of them quite touching.

Don't people eat brains and tongue any more? My father's Italian friend would always come over for the brains, tongue, and organs.

Prions are nasty. I'd avoid eating brains and nervous tissue from any animal.
