Triggernometry The "Center Mass" Myth and Ending a Gunfight By Jim Higginbotham

I agree, the article does seem like it is building up to something grand, when his tactics are simple and basic. But if you take the Hollywood out of gun fighting, what works is simple and basic. Defensive weaponscraft, by design, shouldn't be complicated. It should be simple and effective.

Give yourself some credit, maybe you just knew what he was saying already. Many people find that simple instruction is, in some way, revolutionary; simply because thier understanding of weaponcraft is based on the Movie 'Swat' or 'Die Hard' .

Just remember, if you ever have to discharge your weapon at another human being...you will be scared. Your heart rate will go up, and your frontal lobe funtioning will go down. Your capacity for rational thought and fine motor skills will go down...what you will be left with is the ability to execute what was practiced, and you will have to do that with diminished logical thought...that skill better be simple and effective. Hense comes the term..."you have to do it without thinking".
