BOSTON --Boston police are investigating the discovery of two high-powered weapons found Wednesday near an elementary school in Mattapan.
Authorities say they were tipped off to the guns by an anonymous phone call.
They were found in what's described by Boston police as the "vicinity" surrounding the Mattahunt School at 100 Hebron Street.
A description of the weapons was not released, but Police Commissioner Ed Davis and Mayor Tom Menino were expected to brief reporters about the discovery.
