Also and just as important does anyone know a smith who might remember them. I just got this one last night and it looks pretty nice but due to it's age I'd like someone to give it a once over (I'm a handgun newbie). Any advice/comment greatly appreciated.

Tangfolios are a well made Italian copy of the CZ75. Nice guns but I prefer my CZ's [wink] and hate that slide safety. Take it out and shoot it! They tend to be very accurate

I gave one a once over at a local shop a couple weeks back. I knew it was an older cz copy but the salesman made me think better of it when he said that parts were likely difficult to come by. I dont know how true/untrue this is but I have a soft spot for cz's and figured i'd try and hold out for the real thing.

Check with DanS here...I know he used to do lots of work on the old springfield P9's when they were big in IPSC. Pretty sure the P9 is very similar to the TZ75

i do love the heft and feel of them, however i am not a fan of slide mounted safeties. that's the primary reason why i have never bought a beretta 92fs. ( well along with the fact that i believe .45acp is the superior to all pistol cartridge )

very good looking gun you have there.

I have an old TZ in 40. It is SA/DA but has a 1911 style thumb safety. The gun is OK but customer service from EAA (US TZ distributor) was awful. I would never buy another TZ as long as EAA is the US rep.

It's a Tanfo just shoot the thing, no need to have a smith look at it unless its doing something weird. Since its more or less a ripoff of the CZ75 design (with obvious exceptions) you probably won't have much problems.
