I believe we are limited to cage/box traps. My son in law recently completed the course and got his license to trap. I'm sure my next post/question will be about tanning

Really depends on what your trapping. Is he trapping beaver or other fur bearing animals? If he is targeting beaver look for a good Hancock trap.

I do beaver trapping for a living in MA feel free to reach out if you have questions. It's unfortunate the regs are the way they are but you can still catch a good amount.

If you end up buying new, I have purchased small conibears and similiar from this fleabay seller and his prices were reasonable. His prices got better as you ordered the multiples.
